We’ve answered some of our most Frequently Asked Questions below, but if you have others, don’t hesitate to call or email us.
Do I need to make an appointment? Yes, booking an appointment is highly recommended, especially if requesting a certain time or spa therapist. We do accept walk-ins, as available. Demand for appointments is usually higher from Thursday through Saturday, after 6pm and around holidays. Call our Front Desk Team directly at: 905.850.2617 to reserve your appointments.
What is the Cancellation Policy? Forty-Eight hour (48) notification is required for all cancelled or changed spa appointments to avoid a $50 cancellation fee.
When should I arrive for my appointment? We ask that you arrive 15 to 20 minutes prior to your appointment to fully benefit from the TruBliss experience. Once you’ve checked in, you’ll have a chance to Relax in our Tranquillity Lounge area, enjoy our music, sample some complimentary tea in the Tranquillity Lounge or browse our Spa Boutique Shop.
What if I arrive late to my appointment? Arriving late will limit the time for your treatment, thus lessening the effectiveness and your pleasure. You will still be charged the full fee for the appointment.
What are your payment policies? Appointments must be reserved with a credit card or gift card number. Payment may be made in advance or at the time of service. We accept cash and all major credit cards for services and for gratuities. For any special offers, only one offer per person may be used for any service.
What is the procedure after I check in? You’ll be able to relax in the Tranquillity Lounge or in the spa boutique shop area until your appointment time, and we suggest this as a transition time to help you forget the world outside. We hope you’ll enjoy a complimentary cup of tea and chill to our music until it’s time for your appointment, when you’ll be greeted in the Tranquillity Lounge by your Service Provider.
Your Spa Therapist will offer a brief consultation. For massage, you’ll undress privately, then lie face down on the massage table, with a sheet and blanket covering you. Early in the massage, your therapist will ask you whether the technique and firmness of touch are to your liking and may ask about the room temperature or volume of the music. Please feel free to communicate your thoughts at that time or at any time during your massage. Honest communication will help him or her give you the best treatment possible.
After the massage is finished and you have dressed, you’ll join your massage therapist outside the treatment room. Once you check out, please take time to relax in the Tranquillity Lounge again and enjoy complimentary tea.
What should I tell my treatment provider? At TruBliss all guests receiving spa treatments have not only the right, but also the responsibility to communicate openly with their aesthetician, hair stylist and/or spa therapist about their service during the treatment. Any special expectations, personal preferences and/or possible concerns about how a treatment is progressing should first be addressed directly with the individual who is providing the treatment during the treatment.
If there are certain things you wish your therapist NOT to do such as work on your feet, your face, your abdomen or scalp/hair, please communicate your desires.
In addition, you have the obligation to let your therapist know about any health related conditions that could potentially cause you discomfort or harm during the course of your treatment. This would include, but is not limited to, pregnancy, recent surgeries, diabetes, injuries, high or low blood pressure, heart conditions, and any allergies.
All of our services are designed to nurture, relax, restore and meet your specific needs. We welcome your input and feedback.
What should I wear? Wear comfortable clothing. If you’re enjoying multiple spa services, a robe and slippers are provided for your convenience. Your spa therapist will leave the room as you disrobe and you will lay under a sheet on the table. Upon completion of the treatment, your therapist will again step out of the treatment room to allow you to redress. Our Spa Therapists are trained in proper draping techniques for your comfort. You may opt to receive treatments in your bathing suit or undergarments. Please remove all jewellery.
What if I have some physical ailment, disability or allergies? Please notify the spa receptionist at the time you’re making your appointments and your therapist at the beginning of your treatment. You will be informed if treatments are not recommended.
Should I avoid the spa if I am pregnant? Your doctor can best advise you on which treatments are safe. We also suggest that you avoid treatments using deep pressure and heat.
Can I choose to have a male or female therapist? If you have a gender preference, please advise the Client Care Representative at the time of making your appointment.
Should men shave before a facial? Shaving is recommended but not necessary. Please be sure to do so at least four hours prior to your scheduled appointment.
Are there any rules of etiquette? Honour the spa environment with quiet time; it is one of tranquillity and relaxation. Remember that your treatment will end on time so that the next guest is not delayed. The use of cell phones or electronic devices are not permitted in the spa. Arrive early. Don’t cheat yourself out of your relaxation time. Please review our full policies and etiquette by clicking here.
What is your gratuity policy? Gratuities are not included in our prices, but they can be paid in cash or added onto credit or debit cards. We are often asked about the appropriate gratuity. If your service reached your expectations, you might use 18% to 20% as a benchmark. Gratuity envelopes are located at the checkout desk.
Will I be able to purchase the products that are used in my treatments? We carry a full array of professional spa products so you can duplicate the benefits at home. We also ship direct to you should you want to reorder upon returning home.
How do I determine which facial to choose? The aestheticians at TruBliss are trained to customize each of our facial treatments for your particular skin through skin analysis.
Should I shave my legs before my massage or body treatment? Shaving is recommended but please be sure to do so no less 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Certain products may irritate newly-shaven skin.
